SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESMENT
Anama Consulting conducted a Social Impact Assessment (SIA) for RAPP in Riau Regency to evaluate the potential and actual social impacts of its operations on surrounding communities. The assessment focused on understanding key dimensions such as livelihood systems, land use and tenure, access to natural resources, and community wellbeing, while also identifying vulnerable groups and potential areas of conflict. Through this process, Anama provided a comprehensive analysis of both positive contributions and potential risks, forming the basis for more inclusive and sustainable project planning.
A core strength of Anama’s approach lies in its ability to build strong rapport with local communities, enabling open dialogue and trust-based engagement. By applying participatory qualitative methods—including in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and community mapping—Anama was able to uncover nuanced social dynamics, perceived impacts, and emerging concerns that are often not visible through surface-level assessments. This approach allowed for a more accurate measurement of social risks, including issues related to land access, livelihood disruption, and community relations, while also generating practical recommendations to mitigate risks and strengthen long-term social sustainability.
